October 2025
Dear readers,
October brought many exciting developments at FAU CHREN:
We warmly congratulate the graduates of the Master of Human Rights and welcome our new students, who celebrated their Opening & Graduation Ceremony on October 23 with keynote speaker Dunja Mijatović.
The IDP Closing Conference marked another milestone – the successful completion of the first participant cohort. We also co-hosted the book launch “Feminist Judgments” with the International Nuremberg Principles Academy, followed by a lively panel discussion.
Further highlights include the launch of the public lecture series “Die Zukunft der Demokratie (The Future of Democracy)”, co-organized by Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Heiner Bielefeldt, and a new episode of our “Human Rights Tracks” podcast.
The Human Rights Colloquium also continued this semester with contributions from Prof. Dr. Markus Krajewski, Dr. Teng Biao, and Polina Kurakina.
We are also pleased to announce that Dr. Janina Heaphy has been appointed as Senior Research Fellow at FAU CHREN and contributed, together with Prof. Dr. Eva Pils and Prof. Dr. Petra Bendel, to the Erlangen Declaration for Tolerance.
Finally, we are currently hiring two student assistants to support our work in event management, outreach, publications, research, and teaching.
With kind regards,
Natalia Wrzaszczyk
