Date: 13 October 2025Time: 17:00 – 22:00Location: FAU CHREN, Andreij-Sacharow-Platz 1, 90403 Nürnberg. Lecture Hall, 4th floor.
On 13 October 2025, the FAU Research Center for Human Rights Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU CHREN) in cooperation with the International Nuremberg Principles Academy and the Australian Human Rights Institute, will host the launch of the newly published volume Feminist Judgements: Reimaging the International Criminal Court, accompanied by a panel discussion with the editors and international experts in the field. Published by Cambridge Universtiy Press in July 2025, the book reimagines the relationship between law and gender justice from courts around the world by rewriting judgements through a feminist lens. With over 60 contributions, it explores a wide range of decisions of the International Criminal Court examining the connections between gender, race, nationality, ethnicity, faith, sexual orientation and the practice of the International Criminal Court. The panel discussion will bring together contributors and critical voices to reflect on the implications of feminist legal interventions for the ICC, and to debate how a more inclusive, diversity-aware approach to international criminal law can be developed in theory and practice.
This panel discussion is part of a series of events which includes a launch at the Centre for Women, Peace and Security at the London School of Economics, and a panel discussion at Sciences Po, Paris. Judge Navi Pillay will launch the book in Australia in November 2025.
