Dr. Janina Heaphy is a board member at FAU CHREN and as of 1 October 2025, serves as Senior Researcher.
Her research focuses on the intersection of human rights, foreign and security policy, the prohibition of torture, and counter-terrorism.
In addition to her research, she teaches in the Master of Human Rights programme as well as in the Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes in Political Science.
She also coordinates the publication of the Journal for Human Rights and takes on senior executive responsibilities within the institute.
