M.A. Human Rights Opening and Graduation Ceremony 2026 with Ligia Bolívar

The Human Rights Master programme at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) warmly invites you to its annual Opening and Graduation Ceremony. On Friday, 23 October 2026, at 6 p.m., we will gather at the FAU CHREN Lecture Hall (4th floor) to celebrate the achievements of our graduating students and welcome the new cohort to the programme.

The M.A. Human Rights is an interdisciplinary and international postgraduate programme that brings together the political, philosophical and legal dimensions of human rights. Students from more than 65 countries and a wide range of academic backgrounds contribute diverse perspectives and experiences to the programme. They are supported by a network of leading human rights academics and practitioners, many of whom are actively engaged in human rights work beyond the classroom.

The ceremony provides an opportunity to celebrate our graduates and reflect on their time in the programme. At the same time, we look forward to welcoming a new generation of students who will begin their studies at FAU CHREN.

We are particularly honoured to welcome Ligia Bolívar, recipient of the 2026 FAU Rudolf Benario Human Rights Award, as our keynote speaker. Her contribution will be a special highlight of the evening and provide an important perspective on current human rights challenges.

The ceremony will be followed by a small reception, offering an opportunity to celebrate together and to meet and exchange with fellow students, alumni, colleagues and friends of the M.A. Human Rights and FAU CHREN.
