The Zeitschrift für Menschenrechte (zfmr) is an interdisciplinary academic journal focusing on human rights and human rights policy. It publishes scholarly articles from a range of disciplines, including law, political science and history, as well as philosophy, sociology and education.
The journal provides a forum for current human rights debates and brings together theoretical, empirical and practice-oriented perspectives. It is aimed at researchers, students and stakeholders from the fields of politics, education and civil society who are engaged with human rights and their implementation.
Since its foundation in 2007, more than 350 authors have published in the zfmr, thereby highlighting the diversity of human rights research in the German-speaking world.
Until 2024, Prof. Dr Michael Krennerich †, former scientific director of FAU CHREN, was co-editor of the journal.
