A recent Deutschlandfunk program focuses on the topic of transnational repression—that is, the persecution, intimidation, or surveillance of people by states across national borders.
Transnational Repression in Germany
The program explores various perspectives on the challenges that people may face when they speak out from abroad about their country of origin or advocate for human rights.
Research Associate Fabian Krause also contributes to the program, sharing insights from the project “Mapping Transnational Repression in Germany – a Human Rights Perspective”.
The project was carried out as part of the FAU CHREN Human Rights Clinic in cooperation with the German Institute for Human Rights. A team of students led by Fabian Krause examined the threats faced by victims of transnational repression in Germany, as well as existing gaps in protection.
