Eline Wærp is a postdoctoral researcher at the Erlangen-Nuremberg Centre for Human Rights (CHREN) and her research focuses on the digitalisation of EU air border controls and its implications for human rights. She completed her PhD in Migration Studies at the Department of Global Political Studies at Malmö University, where she wrote her thesis on the production of ‘secure border knowledge’ by the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex). Her research interests include irregular migration, security and EU border controls. Through her research, she aims to have a positive impact on society by scrutinising prevailing discourses and practices and challenging taken-for-granted assumptions.
